Eight destination management companies have joined to create the San Francisco Destination Management Council in hopes of attracting more corporate and association business to the Bay Area. The new entity will discuss best practices and industry issues, while also working together to deal with industry challenges. Though council members often are in direct competition with each other, the collaboration ultimately will allow each DMC to offer better solutions to clients, according to a press release from PRA Destination Management San Francisco. The eight members estimate they represent about 80 percent of the DMC business in San Francisco; they are Access Destination Services, Brier & Dunn, Benchmark Destinations, Kuoni Destination Management, Mana Allison & Associates, Maximize Events, PRA Destination Management and USA Hosts/Key Events.
