In the 2014 version of our annual Global Planner, M&C takes an in-depth look at meetings, conventions, trade shows, incentive programs and events held outside the United States.

Our survey of 313 planners -- 207 from the corporate side and 106 representing associations -- reveals where  groups met outside the U.S. last year and where they will hold international events in 2014 and 2015. Included are details on which destinations are most popular for all types of events, as well as rankings for incentive destinations.

Following are our findings on the planning and decision-making process behind international events, including budgets, types of hotels used, the most-used services provided by destination marketing organizations, duration of events and elements that can negatively affect programs.
