M&C's Global Planner survey is an annual deep dive into meetings and events held outside the United States. Our 2018 report is based on responses from 170 planners who revealed many insights about their practices and preferences, including the following.

Europe remains the top international meetings destination for 2018 and 2019.

The Caribbean/Bermuda was cited by 38% of respondents as in their plans for 2018 vs. 16 percent having booked there in 2017; Mexico and Canada also showed healthy increases over last year as group destinations.

Terrorism (cited by 49 percent) and local health issues (41 percent) remain chief concerns for planners of global events.

When it comes to spending, 14 percent of planners polled said their next international meeting has a budget of more than $1 million.
