In downtown San Jose, Calif., planners can liven up their F&B lineup with a plate of sautéed grasshoppers at Mezcal, an authentic Oaxacan restaurant near the newly expanded San Jose Convention Center. Known as "chapulines," the crispy critters are prepared with garlic and spices and served with sauces and fresh-made tortillas. Other menu items include Oaxacan takes on enchiladas, flautas and more. Mezcal is available for private parties and large groups.
