New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has lifted the decree that closed Atlantic City's 12 casinos since last Sunday, according to press reports. Following the governor's announcement this morning, New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement reinstated certificates of operation for the city's gaming resorts. "The director has indicated that a complete review and assessment of the status and condition of each casino property, including the casino floors, its equipment, surveillance, security and gaming-related computer systems have been completed," Christie said in a statement. "I have extreme confidence in Division of Gaming Enforcement staff as they begin the reopening process of gaming operations in Atlantic City."
