Florida Developer Offers $90 Million for Shuttered Revel
A Florida developer has offered $90 million for the Revel Casino Hotel, which was shuttered last week, according to press reports. In a bankruptcy court filing, the casino said Glen Straub, owner of the Polo North Country Club in West Palm Beach, made the cash bid for the $2.4 billion resort. Straub did not reveal specific plans for the property, but has said he would be bothered by the idea of his family profiting from an enterprise built around gambling. The resort requested a judge to set an auction for Sept. 24 if any higher bids are received by Sept. 23. A bankruptcy court judge would have to approve any sale.
