The Davenport (Iowa) City Council has approved the development of a $110 million casino and hotel project, according to the Associated Press. Plans call for the purchase (for $51 million) and eventual closure of the Rhythm City riverboat casino by Kehl's Scott County Casino LLC. Kehl's will build a new land-based casino and hotel to open as early as fall 2015. Tentatively, the casino is expected to have at least 900 slot machines, 25 table games and a poker room, as well as a 95-room hotel, a 1,500-seat theatre and several dining venues.
