A total of 17 bids have been submitted by developers vying to win a casino license in upstate New York; the deadline for bids was this past Monday, June 30. The companies are competing for four casino licenses in three regions: the Catskills and the Hudson Valley, the Albany area, and an area between Binghamton and Lake Ontario. Among the bidders are gaming giants Caesars Entertainment and Malaysia’s Genting Group. Bidders will give oral presentations July 21 to the state Gaming Facility Location Board, and winners will be announced by the board this fall.
