Nashville has experienced rapid hotel development since the Music City Center opened in May 2013, but 2019 is shaping up to be an especially active year on the city's hospitality front. According to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., fully 20 hotels representing 3,245 guest rooms are set to open by year's end.

Every hotel brand, it seems, wants to plant a flag here, and this week, Four Seasons followed suit by announcing that ground will be broken on a new hotel and residences in April in the heart of the city, marking the company's first Tennessee location. The five-star, full-service luxury Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Nashville will have 236 guest rooms and a world-class spa.
"This will be one of the most iconic high-rise buildings in the state of Tennessee," said Dean Stratouly, president of Congress Group, a Boston-based real estate investment and development firm that is involved in the project. "Delivered as LEED Gold and standing 542 feet tall, it will be one of the state's greenest and tallest residential buildings. We'd like to thank the many public and private partners that have aided us in moving forward this generational vision, which will redefine the skyline and what is possible in Nashville."

The development adds to the growth of the SoBro (for south of Broadway) area of Nashville, sparked by the arrival of major businesses and corporate headquarters. The hotel will be built along the Cumberland River, within a block of culinary and nightlife experiences on Broadway, and near West Riverfront Park, Nissan Stadium and the Ascend Amphitheater.

"Long recognized for its popular music and entertainment offerings, Nashville is also home to one of the most vibrant culinary and arts scenes in the United States," noted Bart Carnahan, executive vice president of global business development and portfolio management for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. "Together with our partners at Congress Group and AECOM Capital, we are creating a world-class property, in one of the best locations in the city,"
