AMResorts began construction last week on a new 602-room resort complex in Puerto Vallarta, on Mexico’s Pacific coast. The US$150 million development, slated to open in 2012, will include the 271-room Secrets Puerto Vallarta and 331-room Now Amber Puerto Vallarta. Both all-inclusive properties are the first of their respective brands in the city. Secrets, an adults-only property, will be a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide network. Now Amber’s rooms and suites will all feature ocean views and private terraces, and the property will have a spa and a fitness center on-site.
