The 297-room AT&T Hotel and Conference Center in Austin, Texas, has opened a 30,000-square-foot expansion to its meeting space, bringing its total to 80,000 square feet. The addition includes the 15,000-square-foot Zlotnik Family Ballroom, 5,000 square feet of prefunction space, nine meeting rooms and a new banquet kitchen.
"We're thrilled to be offering these new, innovative spaces that groups from all over the world can utilize," said Ted Hibler, general manager of the property. "Whether learning, discussing or celebrating, we know the expansion will provide both guests and locals with a space they can use to collaborate and come together."
As part of the expansion, the property collaborated with the University of Texas at Austin's award-winning public-art program called Landmarks to commission a mural by José Parlá, a Brooklyn, N.Y-based artist. Accenting the Zlotnik Family Ballroom's prefunction space, the mural celebrates Austin's natural environment and cityscape.
The property offers two sit-down dining options, the fine-dining Carillon, a new-American grill, and Gabriel's, a more casual café, bar and sports lounge. For larger meetings, the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center has access to more than 500 additional guest rooms through a partnership with surrounding hotels, an area known as the Innovation District.
