Accor, the French hotel-management company, is expanding its Latin American footprint with the acquisition of the South American portfolio of the Grupo Posadas lodging company. Included in the US$275 million transaction are the Caesar Park and Caesar Business brands, which include 15 owned, leased and/or managed hotels. Also part of the deal are an undisclosed number of properties in the pipeline in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The Mexico-based Grupo Posadas will focus on the 102 hotels it runs in its home country. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2012.
