French hotel group Accor is moving its luxury and upscale marketing operations from Paris, where the company is headquartered, to Singapore. According to Accor, the move is in response to the company's growing business base in the Asia Pacific region; its Asian consumers represent half of its global luxury sales. Accor currently has 170 luxury and upscale hotels in Asia Pacific, with another 70 in the development pipeline. The company's brands include Grand Mercure, McGallery, Pullman, Sebel and Sofitel.
