Amanera, a 25-casita luxury resort, will debut in the Dominican Republic later this year. The 2,000-acre property, designed by John Heah, sits on 60-foot cliffs and is set between the Playa Grande beach and the Playa Grande Golf Course (designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and renovated by his son, Rees Jones). The resort, Aman's first in the Domincan Republic, will have several lounges, extensive dining (including several private function spaces), an Aman spa, a fitness center, tennis courts and more recreational facilities.

The casitas are designed to blend into the natural surroundings and will have flat biodiverse roofs that will feature green gardens. In a statement about the opening, Vladislav Doronin, chairman of the board of Aman Resorts, said, "The launch of Amanera is a clear illustration of brand progression and represents a number of firsts for Aman; not only is this our first fully integrated golf resort, but it is one that unusually presents ocean vistas from every hole."
