Andaz, Hyatt's boutique lifestyle brand, welcomed media to a creative showcase at the Andaz Fifth Avenue in New York City on Tuesday, offering a number of unique cultural experiences to introduce four new properties. Andaz Ottawa Byward Market opened on Aug. 22; Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa will debut in November; Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya Mayakoba will debut in December; and the Andaz Delhi will open by year's end in New Delhi, India. These projects are part of a global expansion that will nearly double the portfolio, now 13 properties strong, by the end of 2017.

The Andaz brand was launched in 2007, with its first property on Liverpool Street in London. The brand's concept is to tap into a growing desire among travelers not just to visit a destination, but to become immersed in it, with experiential offerings that authentically channel each property's local culture.

Jonathan Frolich, vice president, global brands, for Andaz and Hyatt Centric, is responsible for defining, communicating and innovating the guest experience for both brands. According to Hyatt, Jonathan recently served as vice president of Innovation, "where he helped infuse empathy-based, design-thinking processes across the company to fuel innovation and find new ways of doing business for colleagues, guests and owners."
