A $350 million convention center hotel in downtown Austin, Texas, received city approval last week, according to statesman.com. The 1,100-room property will include two hotels under one roof -- one of them a four-star hotel of about 30 stories, topped by a smaller luxury hotel. Both will be operated by the same company. The property also will feature 600 to 800 parking spaces and about 100,000 square feet of meeting space. According to plans, a sky bridge will connect the hotel to the second level of the 246,097-square-foot Austin Convention Center.
