South Florida-based B Hotels & Resorts will open a new hotel in the Downtown Disney Resort Area in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., in the fall of 2013. Currently the 394-room Royal Plaza, the transformed property will be the third B hotel in the group's portfolio, joining the 240-room B Ocean Fort Lauderdale and the 167-room B South Beach. The renovation and repositioning is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013; the property will offer 18,000 square feet of space in addition to a full-service spa. B Hotels also announced its first b2 hotel, to debut in downtown Miami at the site of the former Continental Bayside hotel. The b2 brand promises to offer full-service at a more affordable price point. The inaugural 243-room property is expected to open in the first quarter of 2013 with about 2,000 square feet of function space.
