Benchmark Hospitality International, an independent hospitality management company, has acquired MTM Luxury Lodging, a hotel and asset management company specializing in full-service upscale hotels. The acquisition brings four managed properties into Benchmark's portfolio and another to be built soon. Combined with eight properties currently operated by Benchmark, the 13 will form a new brand, the Personal Luxury Collection. "I am particularly pleased to announce this acquisition and the launch of our new Personal Luxury Collection, as they go hand in hand," said Burt Cabañas, chairman and CEO of Benchmark Hospitality International. The new properties MTM brings to Benchmark's portfolio are the 120-room Hotel 1000 and the 76-room Sorrento Hotel, both in Seattle; the 84-room Willows Lodge in Woodinville, Wash.; and the 62-room Bardessono, in Napa Valley, Calif. The Bellevue Park Hotel, being constructed in Bellevue, Washington, will open in 2013. MTM executives also are joining Benchmark. James Simkins, previously partner and CEO of MTM, has been appointed COO of the Personal Luxury Collection, and Jim Treadway, founder, partner and previously chairman of MTM, is now the general manager of the Bardessono and vice chairman of Benchmark Hospitality's Advisory Board.
