Best Western International announced new hotel branding last week, based on the types of amenities and service levels offered at each property. The hotel company's properties will be identified as Best Western, Best Western Plus or Best Western Premier. Currently there are 100 of the upscale Premier hotels globally, four of which are in the United States. About a dozen more of the upscale hotels are slated to open in the states and Canada in the next few months. In addition, about 800 Best Western Plus and 1,300 Best Western properties are in North America. Meeting space isn't mandated at any of the levels, according to the company, but many properties offer such space regardless.
