Best Western International signed deals for five more hotels to open by the end of next year under its new urban boutique Vib flag. Vib (short for "vibrant") was announced in October 2014 and now has eight properties in its pipeline.

"Vib is really gaining traction because it is the only boutique concept designed for the upper-midscale hotel segment and fills a niche that developers and customers want," said Ron Pohl, senior vice president of brand management for Best Western.

The newly announced properties are the 200-room Los Angeles Vib, 150-room Miami Vib (the second in the city), 112-room Little Rock (Ark.) Vib, 90-room Springfield (Mo.) Vib and 81-room Staten Island (N.Y.) Vib. They join the previously announced projects in Chicago, Miami and Seoul, South Korea.
