According to news reports, the body of Jill Renick, spa director at the Omni Houston Hotel, has been found at the property.

Renick was last heard from on Sunday when she became stuck in an elevator at the hotel as flood waters from Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath continued to rise. The Houston Chronicle had reported her car and her dog were found outside, and that Renick had called 911.

Today, the newspaper ran this statement from Renick's sister, Pam Eslinger: "It is with heavy hearts that the search for my sister, Jill Renick, has concluded with the confirmation of her death. We are heartbroken. To know Jill is to have loved her. She could light up a room just by walking in and adored life. She was loved by so many people, and we will feel the impact of her absence in our hearts forever."

A statement from the hotel company reads: "We are heartbroken and shaken by this development. We are communicating with the family to offer whatever assistance we can, and we are arranging grief counseling to help our associates process this shocking news. This is a difficult time for us all. We ask that you please respect everyone's privacy as we deal with our tragic loss."

Renick had worked for Omni Hotels since 2012 and as a clinic administrator for Massage Envy before that. She took over managing the spa at the Omni Houston in June 2015.

The Omni Houston currently is closed with no reopening date. The company's other area hotel, the Omni Houston Hotel at Westside, is closed until Sept. 30.
