A $20 million renovation of all 295 guest rooms at Boston's Charles Hotel has been completed. The rooms now feature new furniture, Carrara marble bathrooms, "smart sleeper" mattresses, an energy-saving light system, blackout curtains, 55-inch TVs and minibars featuring superfoods.
The Harvard Square hotel continues to showcase its famed art collection, as well as an in-house library. Chef Peter Davis has created a menu of fresh local dishes at Henrietta's Table; chef Jody Adams works her magic on regional Italian fare for Rialto; jazz is on the menu of Regattabar, which seats 225 for private events; the hotel's cocktail venue is Noir, which also can be used for events of up to 100.
The Charles also features the full-service Corbu Spa & Salon, with a French-influenced bill of treatments; guests have access to the neighboring Wellbridge Athletic Club, including their group fitness classes. The property offers more than 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
