The 166-room Caneel Bay Resort in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, is no longer managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resort, which has operated the luxury property since 1993, according to M&C's sister publication Travel Weekly. The resort, which closed for the low season on Aug. 26, will reopen Nov. 1 under the Caneel Bay Resort name. A new eatery, ZoZo's Ristorante, will replace the former Sugar Mill restaurant, and Cannella, a coffee shop and Italian gelateria, will debut. The new Sushi Bar, adjacent to the Caneel Beach Bar & Grill, already has opened; the property plans to renovate all guest rooms in phases over the next two to three years, beginning next year.
