The historic Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez in France is set to reopen in spring 2018 as the Hotel Martinez and will join the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The hotel, which is on La Croisette and overlooks the Bay of Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea, originally opened in 1929.
The art deco property, which will undergo renovations before the spring, offers 409 guest rooms and 26,900 square feet of meeting and event space. The two-Michelin-starred restaurant La Palme d'Or will remain, and a second restaurant will debut at the reopening. The hotel will have an L. Raphaël Beauty Spa, a Hyatt StayFit gym and a private beach.
"Hotel Martinez will be a great addition to the Unbound Collection by Hyatt due to its distinct characteristics and personality. The hotel is iconic and its history is truly incredible - all of which is an ideal brand fit," said Alessandro Cresta, general manager of the property. "The renovation will focus on preserving and enhancing the original details of the building, all while giving it a fresh twist."
Hotel Martinez will be the second Unbound Collection property in Europe, joining the Hotel du Louvre in Paris. Other properties in the brand are the Confidante Miami Beach; the Driskill in Austin, Texas; the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix; and Carmelo Resort & Spa in Uruguay.
