The legal status and ownership structure of the two companies does not change, but the new group will align the global management of its brands, development, purchasing opportunities and human resource development. All marketing and commercial business will be under the name of Carlson Rezidor. "Carlson and Rezidor have a long, common history and have grown together over the past 17 years," said Hubert Joly, Carlson president and CEO, in a statement. Joly and Rezidor president and CEO Kurt Ritter will co-chair a global steering committee that will look for opportunities to create value and develop the new group. The group's website,, will launch on Feb. 1.
