The Aurora (Colo.) City Council on Monday voted to designate as "blighted" 125 acres of land set aside for a 1,500-room Gaylord Entertainment convention resort, according to the Denver Post. The move helps the city in its efforts to offer incentives to the hospitality company to bring the project to fruition. Ground could be broken on the $800 million property by late 2012. The resort, featuring 400,000 square feet of meeting space, would open in 2015.
