According to news reports, a 300-room Renaissance Hotel under construction in Colorado Springs, Colo., will be auctioned in October. The property, originally scheduled to open in 2010, was a John Q. Hammons project, but the company has decided to walk away. The builder, Flintco Inc., currently holds a more than $24 million lien on the hotel. The property, which was to have a 50,000-square-foot conference center, is about two-thirds complete.
