Singapore-based Commune Hotels & Resorts is adding six new properties in its luxury brand Alila in Southeast Asia by the end of the year. Sheduled to open in the second quarter, the 227-room Alila SCBD, the third Alila property in Jakarta, Indonesia, will be in the heart of the financial district, next door to the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The hotel will feature two restaurants and a nightclub, as well as an executive lounge.
The brand will enter China this year with three properties. The 74-villa Alila Anji in the Zhejiang province, whose design will resemble a traditional Chinese village, will feature a full-service spa with seven treatment rooms. The 118-room Alila Yangshuo, which will be housed in a renovated historic sugar mill, will have a signature restaurant, an exhibition hall, a full-service spa, a meeting loft, a library for private gatherings and an infinity-edged pool that will connect to the Li River. The third property in China will be the Alila Tianxi Lake, with 68 suites and 13 villas, as well as two restaurants, a full-service spa, a cooking studio, meeting space, an herb garden overlooking a lake, and a golf course.
In Jaipur, India, the 59-suite Alila Fort Bishangarh, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2016, will be housed in the 230-year-old Rajasthan Fort on a granite hill in the Arvalli Mountain Range. In addition to two restaurants, the property will feature an all-day coffee lounge, a bar and cigar room, a wine cellar, a library and a fitness center. Alila's first property in Cambodia will be the Alila Villas Koh Russey, an eco-resort consisting of one- and two-bedroom villas; full details have not yet been revealed.
Commune Hotels & Resorts plans to have 15 new properties in Asia by 2018, with further expansion in China, India, Indonesia and its first resorts in West Malaysia.
