The 500-room Friar Tuck Resort, Spa & Convention Center in New York's Catskill Mountains closed its doors last Tuesday. The property filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last September, but Ulster Savings Bank, which held the resort's mortgage, recently took control of the property. According to the Albany Times Union, the bank decided to shut down operations while looking for a new buyer. The property has a total of 52,000 square feet of meeting space, a 2,500-seat theater, a spa and salon, and numerous sports facilities.
