Ground will be broken today on the 350-room Hotel at Southport in Renton, Wash., about 10 miles southeast of Seattle. The property will be part of the Southport mixed-use development, minutes from Sea-Tac International Airport. Amenities planned for the hotel include a waterfront restaurant, four rooftop terraces, an indoor pool, a spa and 42,000 square feet of meeting space. The 17.5-acre development is next to the 55-acre Gene Coulon Park, which offers pathways, tennis and basketball courts, and more. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the hotel will be 12 stories tall in a nod to Seattle Seahawks fans, who are known as the NFL team's 12th Man.
