Starwood Hotels & Resorts broke ground on Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos, this week. The project will cover 33 acres of beachfront property and offer a spa, residences, vacation-ownership units and a private beach club. The resort will be the collection's seventh in Mexico and is expected to debut in June 2017.

The 131-room resort will be comprised of five six-floor buildings; each guest room will offer an outdoor terrace, many of them with Jacuzzis. Three on-site restaurants will include an all-day dining spot, a pool-area grill and a specialty restaurant. Additional amenities include a 26,000-square-foot swimming pool and deck, a 12,500-square foot spa and fitness center, three tennis courts, and several miles of walking and running paths. More than 9,900 square feet of meeting and event space will be offered as well.
