According to the Austin American-Statesman, Manchester Texas Financial Group plans to build a 1,035-room, $350 million hotel east of the Austin Convention Center. The facility already has the 800-room Hilton Austin to offer, and White Lodging Services Corp. has been linked to a nearby project to construct a 1,003-room Marriott Marquis. The Austin City Council is expected to vote today on $4.3 million in fee waivers for the Marriott, which could begin construction in nine months.
