The Kimpton Rouge Hotel in Washington, D.C., has been acquired by Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners, a hospitality investment fund, along with co-investor Valor Hospitality, a global hotel management company. The two firms began partnering in 2017 to deal in unique hotel properties.

The luxury boutique Kimpton Rouge, in D.C.'s downtown, has 137 guest rooms and 1,800 square feet of meetings space. A total rebrand and renovation of the hotel are planned, along with the addition of a new restaurant and rooftop bar that will open in the next 18 months. The new eatery will have indoor and outdoor space and complement the existing Bar Rouge, which serves breakfast, dinner and cocktails in a lounge-style setting.

KWHP and Valor said that even after the rebrand, the hotel will remain in the Kimpton portfolio. Raeshawna Scott, a 20-year industry veteran who has served with Kimpton properties in the D.C. area, has been tapped to become the new general manager.

"This acquisition is a great example of how our partnership with Valor works," said McLean Wilson, managing partner at KWHP. "It's exactly the type of investment that both KWHP and Valor seek: a boutique, lifestyle-focused property that offers our guests something special, whether you're looking for a top-class cocktail or a view of the White House."
