Hotel industry leader Eric Danziger has been named CEO of the Trump Hotel Collection, The Trump Organization announced Tuesday. Danziger was most recently president and CEO of Hampshire Hotels Management, where he just last year launched the Début Hotel Group, a collection of lifestyle brands. Previously he was president and CEO of Wyndham Hotel Group, and before that he had stints helming Starwood Hotels and Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
The Trump Hotel Collection currently has 14 properties in its portfolio, with plans to open four more in 2016. "It is a very exciting time for our company," said Ivanka Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization. "In selecting a CEO, it was important that we identified someone who shares our passion for excellence and entrepreneurial spirit, and we found that person in Eric."
Danziger expressed enthusiasm about his newest role. "Having started as a bellman at a luxury hotel 44 years ago, being named as CEO of Trump Hotel Collection today, undeniably one of the most amazing luxury brands on the planet, is the stuff of fairy tales - and of the American Dream," he remarked. "To lead this prestigious company alongside Donald, Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric, who are thoughtful, caring, incredibly smart and deeply passionate people, will be a personal cherished highlight. I fully believe that the Trump Hotel brand has significant domestic and global opportunities and look forward to a very dynamic growth trajectory."
