Demand Is Up for Airport Hotels
According to HotelNewsNow, the parent company of STR, the popularity of airport hotels among travelers is increasing. A new report by STR, shows that for the first seven months of 2015, airport hotels posted a 9.1 percent increase in revenue per available room over the same period in 2014. In the first seven months of 2014, the properties posted a similar growth rate of 9.3 percent. A strong, steady occupancy of 75.5 percent for the period has allowed hoteliers to grow their average daily rate, which was up by 7 percent for the period. By comparison, U.S. hotels averaged a 7.4 percent increase in RevPAR for the comparable period, while ADR was up 5 percent.
