The 162-room Diaoyutai Hotel Hangzhou, a collaboration between MGM Resorts International and the government-run Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, is now open in eastern China. The riverside hotel, which positions itself as a venue for high-end business and social events, offers nearly 5,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. There are three restaurants on-site.

The hotel is a product of Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality, a unique joint venture formed by MGM Resorts and Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The latter is the Chinese government's highest-standard brand for hosting foreign heads of state in the country. Together, the companies intend to leverage their respective brands to open new hotels, residences, and retail and entertainment venues.

"We are thrilled to participate in the Diaoyutai Hangzhou," said MGM Resorts chairman and CEO Jim Murren, "and we look forward to opening the Bellagio by MGM Shanghai and Diaoyutai Frankfurt through Diaoyutai MGM next year. The joint venture shows great promise and reflects our strong relationship."
