Thai hospitality firm Dusit International is building the Dusit Thani Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort at First Residence at the Brookwater Golf Club in Springfield, Queensland, Australia. About $US100 million will be spent on the first phase of the project, to open in 2016 and featuring 168 luxury resort apartments with private plunge pools, overlooking a Greg Norman-designed golf course. Also part of phase one are a recreation club with beach-style lagoon pools, lap pools, water slides and a gym; a resort clubhouse featuring four restaurants, a lobby lounge, 24-hour concierge services, an executive club, the Devarana Spa, al fresco restaurants and food markets; and extensive meetings and events facilities. When fully completed, the resort will offer 520 luxury resort apartments, a tennis stadium able to host international tour events, a water park, retail space, an aquatic center and a convention center. The total investment is expected to be US$480 million. Springfield is just southwest of Brisbane and about 30 minutes from Australia's Gold Coast.
