A $600 million eco-tourism resort is in the works for Australia's Great Keppel Island, off the northeastern coast in Queensland. The property will be the first new resort built on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef in more than 20 years. The first phase comprises a 250-room hotel, 700 villas, 600 apartments, a 250-berth marina and an airstrip, with all work expected to be completed by 2025.
