The 270-room Fairmont Abuja will debut in the Nigerian capital in 2019. The property, which will also have 50 luxury residences, will be near the International Conference Center, which is slated to open in 2018. The hotel will have 26,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa and fitness facilities.

"We are very excited to bring the Fairmont brand to the Nigerian capital, fulfilling a growing demand for luxury and genuine hospitality, in addition to helping shape an exciting cultural and culinary landscape," said Jennifer Fox, president, FRHI International and Fairmont Brand. "As the continent's largest economy and biggest oil producer, Nigeria is experiencing robust and stable growth, making it a world-class destination, and an enticing location for both business and leisure travel."
