The new, 185-room Fairmont Pittsburgh opened its doors Monday in Three PNC Plaza, a LEED-certified, mixed-use development downtown. The hotel, which provides 12,000 square feet of meeting space and a 6,000-square-foot health club, will likely receive Gold LEED certification later this year. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms offer views of the city and its rivers. Two food-and-beverage outlets are on-site, including Andys (a bar named for famous Pittsburghers Carnegie and Warhol) and Habitat, a restaurant serving "globally inspired" cuisine.
