The 200-room Shangri-La, Tokyo, announced it would not be accepting any new bookings until further notice, because of the city's unpredictable power supply following Japan's earthquake and tsunami. The property's website said it would resume bookings once the "energy supply and normal hotel operation can and has been restored." According to HotelNewsNow.com, this is the first Tokyo hotel to close since the disaster.
