Downtown Las Vegas property Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel announced plans Tuesday to rebrand as the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel, following extensive renovations. The image overhaul, scheduled to wrap up this fall, includes a revamp of all 638 of the hotel's guest rooms. Other highlights include a two-level casino, with the ground floor featuring contemporary slots and gaming tables, and the upper level showcasing vintage slots and "an original Vegas vibe," according to the property. A new casino bar, dubbed Longbar, will be the longest in the city, claims the hotel, stretching the entire length of the casino. The property also will debut a new Freemont Street Experience venue, the D Bar. The D Las Vegas will offer 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom and four breakout rooms. The property will remain open during the construction and transition period over the coming months.
