The 897-room Grand Hyatt Washington has unveiled its renovated lobby, plus new meeting space and a new breakfast spot called Cabinet. "Our ultimate goal was for our lobby to become a warm and inviting destination for guests and D.C. residents, and to capitalize on the foot traffic from the connected Metro Center station, which we believe was achieved in the new design," said General Manager Steven J. Smith in a statement.
The redesign creates an "urban forest" feel and encompasses the lobby level and the next level up, now called the Declaration Level and offering the new breakfast restaurant Cabinet, a Starbucks Reserve, a FedEx Business Center and eight meeting rooms that add 6,240 square feet of meeting space for a total of 44,000 square feet. Cabinet also can be used for group meals during the day.
