The Grand Velas Los Cabos, the fifth property from Mexico's Velas Resorts, is set to debut in November. The $150 million, all-inclusive luxury resort will be situated in the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.

All 306 suites, each spanning more than 1,180 square feet, will feature ocean views, private terraces and personal plunge pools. The property also will offer five gourmet restaurants and an extensive beverage and wine program influenced by the resort's proximity to Mexico's best-known wine-producing region. A 19,375-square-foot spa will include 20 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy facility. In addition, the resort will have wellness suites with juice bars; three swimming pools; a fitness center; a recreational activities program; teens- and kids-club facilities, and 24-hour butler service.

An on-site convention center will have 16,370 square feet of event space with a capacity of 1,700 participants. Two large ballrooms will be divisible into 20 breakout rooms. All events will take place in a specially designated, separate part of the resort.

Grand Velas Los Cabos was designed to minimize its environmental impact on the local ecosystem: Several hundred trees and cacti that were dug up will be transplanted so that all are used on the premises. The resort also will have self-sufficient reverse-osmosis desalting plants and a facility to filter and reuse water for the exterior gardens and surrounding mangroves and jungle.
