Hard Rock International plans to open its proposed $275 million Atlantic City casino-hotel in spring 2014, according to press reports. Though the company still must secure a series of regulatory approvals before construction gets under way, a project timetable was presented during a public hearing at City Hall last Thursday. The Hard Rock will be built in stages and open with a minimum of 200 rooms; plans call for a total of 850 rooms when construction is completed. Hard Rock is one of three firms that have expressed interest in building one of two smaller Atlantic City casinos allowed by a new state law that went into effect earlier this year.
