Hard Rock Hotels is developing a $US223 million beachfront property in Barcelona, to be built on the last available seaside plot in the Spanish city's metropolitan area. It will be adjacent to the Forum beach and marina in Sant Adria del Besos, near the Parc del Forum and Parc de la Pau event venues. The 504-room hotel is expected to make its debut in early 2022, with construction kicking off late this year.

The project is being built by the U.K.-based private-equity firm ASG and will be operated by Hard Rock Hotels -- the same team behind the soon-to-open Hard Rock Hotel Madrid.

Hard Rock Hotel Barcelona promises a rooftop terrace and bar with a pool, as well as two restaurants, a lobby bar with grab-and-go bites, and a music bar. Guest rooms will be outfitted with private balconies overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The property will provide 21,530 square feet of meeting and event space as well, in the form of a ballroom and seven meeting rooms.

Signature brand amenities at the hotel will include a Body Rock Fitness Centre, a Rock Spa, a Rock Shop, a Hard Rock Roxity Kids' Club and the Sound of Your Stay in-room music program. Subway and tram access are located nearby, providing direct access to the center of the city.
