The Irving (Texas) City Council and Mortenson Development are moving forward with a development agreement for a $90 million, 350-room hotel to support the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. The upscale, full-service property, which will have 20,000 square feet of meeting space of its own, will be connected by skybridge to the 275,000-square-foot center. According to the parties, two hotel brands are under consideration. The development agreement is expected to be finalized in May, and the brand will be announced in June. Groundbreaking will take place later this year, and the hotel is expected to open in the third quarter of 2015.
