According to a Wall Street Journal report, designer Tommy Hilfiger's plans to purchase Manhattan's Clock Tower office building and convert it into a luxury hotel (reported by M&C here) are facing obstacles. Hilfiger and partner JSR Capital signed a contract to pay $170 million for the vintage 1909 building, once the world's tallest, near Madison Square Park. But according to the Journal, the seller, Africa Israel USA, still is speaking with other possible investors. This would be Hilfiger's first hotel venture.
