The 298-room Hilton Barra hotel has opened its doors in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the first of the flag to open in the city. The new property is in the burgeoning Barra de Tijuca neighborhood, where many events in the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held. The hotel offers an executive floor and lounge, in-room sensors to increase energy efficiency, and 14,000 square feet of meeting space, including 10 meeting rooms and two ballrooms. The hotel also participates in the Meetings Simplified bundled package program. A 140-seat signature restaurant is on-site, as is a rooftop bar and lounge, a rooftop pool and a fitness center.
