The 331-room Hilton Concord, just east of San Francisco, began a multimillion-dollar renovation of its guest rooms, suites, public space, meeting and event space, exterior and business center. The project is part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts' global repositioning that will implement the brand's new earthy design palette of blues, browns and beige tones. Upgrades include new 42-inch HD televisions in 325 rooms and 55-inch televisions in each of six suites, in addition to several eco-friendly initiatives, including energy-saving lighting and low-flow toilets. The work at the property, which has 19,000 square feet of meeting space, will finish by the end of the year; in 2012 the hotel will upgrade its banquet and catering furnishings, restaurant and green infrastructure.
